I know that if you have type 2 Diabetes you have a very high risk of developing hypertension. I am wondering if this also works the other way round? As I have hypertension [163/96 at the time but controlled now with Losartan 50 mg] do I have a higher risk of developing type 2 Diabetes and if so, then why?
I was diagnosed with hypertension over 5 years ago and found later that the HbA1c at the time was 41 mmol/L. It has risen since then although not yet to diagnosis level and I'm due another HbA1c in a few weeks.
