Hypnotism

Hello all,

I've been Type 1 for around 4 years now. My blood sugar control has been little short of a disgrace partly due to the foods I eat! Since diagnosis I seemed to start eating more sweets, chocolates and fatty foods. My six monthly blood sugar checks always came in around 14% and I ballooned in weight from 9.5 stone to almost 12.

Anyhow, I decided that enough was enough. A friend of mine had been hypnotised for something and it seemed to be working.....so I decided to give it a try in order to curb my sweet tooth and bad food cravings. I was very sceptical and didn't think it would work on me.....HOWEVER.....show me a chocolate, sweet or some fatty food and I'm afraid I will have to hurl!! It worked fo me and its lasted quite some time now! I can't go near any of that stuff in food isles! I always go for vegetables, etc. I'm also extremely motivated nowadays too. Always out walking and using the gym.

It may not work for everyone, but if anybody is struggling with bad eating habits, it might be worth a shot! Find someone reputable of course.

That's great news. Glad things are working a lot better for you. I have heard of hypnotism but also acupuncture for doing the same thing and with the right help can be very effective.

Keep it up!

Many years ago, I was studying at university for a degree. At this time I was also working long hours, and try as I might, I could not retain any information when I was studying. I was given a tape by a fellow student, who had used it to improve his study techniques. On this tape was a well known hypnotist who taught you how to relax and study more effectively. Therefore, with some doubt I give it a go, and was surprised how well it worked.

At the start of the tape, there was some smoothing music then he would introduce himself, tell you to relax and focus on a nice place, whilst he spoke you felt yourself drifting off to sleep, during sleep he was explaining to you how to overcome your difficulties. I swear, I did not know anything until he began counting back from 10, then you would wake up, feeling relaxed and clear minded. This technique help my studies greatly, and I don't think I would of continued with my degree had it not been for this type of hypnotism.

Some years later, I tried a hypnotist to help me deal with the death of a parent, this was on a one-to-one, and despite a few attempts, this chap failed to hypnotise me. Pleased you found it so useful, money well spent I would say! :)

Regards

Nigel
