Hi, I'm new to this site and was hoping someone could give me some advice.
I've been T1D for almost 9 years and have always woken up with night hypos when they are in the high 3's but over the last couple of weeks they have been getting lower and lower before I wake up. Last night I went to bed with a blood sugar of 13 and woke up in the middle of the night with it 1.3! This has really freaked me out. Am I losing my hypo awareness and is there anything I can do to get it back?

im no expert esme but maybe your basal insulin may need adjusting as this is what has been happening to me and this was the advice i got from dsn :)

I woke up(at varying times) hypo just about every single day for 6 months or so straight until I was advised to split up my basal(at the time Lantus) into one small dose in the evening and then the rest of it after I got up in the morning but otherwise the same amount, my problems are largely solved.

I agree with @karen8967 I am no expert either but maybe a temporary reduction in basal is required and run slightly higher than normal for a while and hopefully this may sort things out for you to regain hypo awareness.... But please seek advice from your DNS before any changes are made as this is only a thought.
