Yesterday evening I took my my metformin(1000mg), gliclazide80mg,insulin- novo rapid 6 ml, levimir 14 units, losartan 100mg, omeprazole 20mg, and atorvastatin 20mg.... My sweeties... Within half an hour my bs went down to 2.0.... I had eaten 3 Cumberland sausages with gravy and a portion of chips so thought I will be ok!!!! What did I do wrong??? Thought of ringing NHS direct as was really worried.. I thought I am going to go in diabetic coma... Should I have not taken insulin.. By the way my BS were low during the afternoon and have been low for last week or so...

Hi Sausage don't have much nutritional value, prob not enough carbs to convert to Sugar, the fat from the sausage and chips would slow down the absorption also, prob better to have included in a meal like that some veg or whole meal bread in particular if you were running a bit low.

Did the novorapid go into muscle rather than Fat? Did that once with my lantrus sugar levels dropped like a stone- 24 hour dose in 30 mins never injected into my thighs again back to my overused belly

Sounds like you need to adjust your lantus to a slightly lower dose. Try it for a few dayssee what happens .also in 3 sausages u would only need 1 and half units approx of novorapid.and I can't tell u on your chips ad I don't know how much u ate.but maybe try lowering your dose slightly next time u have it.it's all trial and error being diabetic. Our bodies behave differently on a daily basis. May be worth keeping a good diary and noting down your insulin. With it. Hope that helps :)
