Hi,
My daughter just had a hypo of 2.5. Second hypo today in fact. This one was an hour after dinner, think it's a combination of perhaps her NovoRapid kicking in before her meal? Not helped by the fact that she'd just been running around playing (sofa) football with her brother and sister in the living room. It was only 10 minutes, but exercise can make her go quite low.
I treated with Lucozade, 15 minutes later it had gone up to 5.6mmol/l.
My question is...do I follow up with a 15g carb follow-up snack as per usual or not? I am reluctant to do this as I think she might go sky high once her dinner carbs kick in? So I am planning to test her in half an hour to see if her BG is going up or down. Obviously if it hasn't risen at all during that time, or even going down, then I would give her a snack. That should be fine shouldn't it? Or should every hypo be treated with a follow-up, even in this case? What would you guys do?
