On 14th December 2021 I changed my target range from 5mmol to 8mmol to 6mmol to 10mmol to try and get my hypo awareness back.

How long should I keep my target range at 6mmol to 10mmol for?

I would have thought until you get your hypo awareness back.
However, if you have not seen that returning after more than 3 months I suggest you discuss this with your diabetes team.

As a comparison (but, remember we are all different), I found my awareness came back after about a month.

On the odd occasion when I have gone into the 3s some of them I feel and some I don't feel

What do you mean by “gone into the 3s” and how are you measuring your levels? Given the accuracy of our meters, I would have no concern if i don’t feel a 3.8 or 3.9 as they may not be a “true hypo” and people without diabetes can see these levels. If you don’t feel a 3.1, this is more concerning.
I asked how you measured because Libre is less accurate or could be a compression low.
You have been posting threads about this for some time. If you are concerned, please talk to your diabetes team/DSN.

I test first with my libre then do a finger prick test
By "gone into the 3s" here's what I mean
25/3/22
23:08 sensor scan 3.1
23:10 finger prick 3.1
17/3/22
14:26 sensor scan 3.3
14:28 finger prick 3.5
14:43 sensor scan 3.3
14:44 finger prick 3.9
12/3/22
20:06 sensor scan 3.4
20:07 finger prick 3.4

The last few days I'm giving it a try of scanning with my libre and using that result for insulin dosing instead of using the finger prick result in the hope that I can start doing less finger pricks unless hypos or highs show up when I scan.

Judging by the number of threads you have posted on this topic, you are obviously concerned so please please please see a medically qualified person to discuss your hypo unawareness. You need treatment focused for you, your diabetes and, I think, your anxiety.

I don't feel anxious about anything. I started this thread by simply asking other forum members who may have gone through hypo unawareness and changed their target range how long it was before they returned their target range back to their normal target range.

My comment about anxiety was not meant to be an insult. I am sorry if you took it that way.
However, you have started a number of threads on the same topic since the start of the year. This may be symptomatic of an anxiety associated with hypos.
We are trying to do the job of a human organ whilst continuing the kind of life others so without medical conditions. So hypos happen. Some are more obvious than others, often due to the speed they come on. I do not expect to maintain healthy low levels and ever having a hypo and noticing every one. That is why I learn how to use technology such as Libre to help me.
If this is not good enough for you, you need to talk to someone in addition to the forum. You need to seek medical assistance to answer your questions for you not what happens to other people.

Hi,

I can't say I've lost hypo awairness. But the symptoms do change.. I've felt I was dropping & blood tested in front of a DSN & she remarked I just suddenly looked bored.
None of that standard sweaty "Steel magnolia" jibbering mess portrayed in this instance.
Actually, as a child on porcine that was how they were..

Though for me a basal hypo can be less visible to the casual onlooker than a bolus job.. My wife can only tell I'm dropping if I happen to be doing a gig?) but then, I perfected the art of treating & covering for a low since I was a kid...

Are you feeling anything is amiss when you test for a low? (Odd symptoms with the eyes or cognitive function whilst distracted with tasks or hobby?)
Have you needed 3rd party help to treat any of them or passed out needing medical assistance.
Hypo symptoms can change, it's just a matter of adjusting awareness of it.?

I feel we all appreciate hypo awairness is inperative regarding this condition.
I seem to remember reading you may need to run your BGs a little higher than 10mmol for a while?

Best wishes.
