Hi guys, I had a bad hypo yesterday which made me loose the feeling in my legs and arms. I just wondered if anyone else has had this before? I got the feeling back straight after I had sugar but was scary.

That sounds nasty @kerry1234 I hope you're feeling better now. Sometimes it can take a day or so to feel completely back to normal after a bad hypo.

I think @catapillar has had something similar, so I'll tag her for you.

I once got a numb face and hands after a thrilling (not) drop to 0.7 mmol/L when I was a teenager and paying too much attention to having fun and not keeping an eye my BS!

Was fun trying to drink Lucozade without pouring it all over myself

Felt rough for a couple of hours that's for sure!

Yes I have had this - it's hypoglycaemic hemiplegia. It has only happened once and it was following a prolonged period of unconsciousness from a nocturnal hypo. I fell out of bed it took me a little while to work out I was on the floor because I couldnt move my right arm or leg! I will sometimes get symptoms of centralised facial numbness from very low lows now.

So long as you're all back to normal now and it was all resolved when your blood sugar was stable it should all carry on being normal and nothing to worry about.

I did go to my GP because I wasn't under a diabetic team at the time and obviously I needed to be and I needed a bit of reassurance because it wasn't very nice and it did scare me. Apparently it rarely happens again, so here's hoping it's a one time thing for you too, but do get in touch with your DSN to report it just in case they can offer any help with avoiding low lows.

Make sure to keep an eye on your blood sugar today and look after yourself.

Yep, when I was about 10/11 I got so low.. (Back in the days of vague pee tests before personal meters.) that I was throwing spasms in my numb legs..
Pale, sweaty & "goosesteppimg" my way past visiting relatives at the time with my focus on the kitchen. They must have thought it was a zombie outbreak!

Thinking about it? I was surprised I could barely walk.. I never let it happen again. (But then, the old bovine insulin was always a killer with the hypo symptoms for me.)

Quite agree @Jaylee , with the bovine/porcine insulin's the hypo symptoms were more pronounced.
