Hi everyone only just been diagnosed three days ago and last night had my first hypo, but I was 5.7 which I thought was normal not a 100% sure what the right move is as I think I'm not lower enough to have one? Sorry if it's a silly question.
Thanks
Kingsley

If you've only just been diagnosed then that means your bloods will have been running higher than normal for a while. At the moment your body will be a little confused because it's used to so much sugar so can mistaken 5.7 as a low however if you keep your bloods in a normal range for a week then your hypo awareness should go back to what it should be... Hope that makes sense :) x

Thanks lottie so at the moment don't worry to much on the numbers Moreno how you feel, is it days or weeks till I might settle down? Thank you for your both your responses, hopefully my questions rant too silly.
Thanks x

Hello.
I was diagnosed in June and had the same experience as you. I found I settled quite quickly, within 1-2 weeks.

Well done for the good result :)
It is a lot to get your head around. Do you know any other t1 diabetics? This forum is a great place for advice and no one will think your questions are silly :)

As Emmotha says. The only silly questions are the ones you don't ask as there is a big learning curve in front of you. No one here will think you are stupid and there is nearly always someone here who is ready and able to help.

You may find it can take months to find a routine if you have a honeymoon period and you will also discover different things about how food, exercise and insulin affects your levels that you wouldn't have dreamed possible. You may discover that things happen to you that the professionals will insist don't happen. Type 1 is a very personal condition. We're all the same yet we are all different.

Stay on the forum and keep asking those dumb questions .Most of all remember you have just started on a journey that has changed your life so you need to take it slowly but don't panic :)
