Hi Everyone here !! (typing my issue while im experiencing it so its kinda detailed) im suffering from a problem with hypos for the first time, i ve been diagnosed with T1 diabetes for 14 years now, im a 26 yo male, my last hba1c was 6.8 % ; 7 something mmol/l, and i experienced this delay in treating hypos for the last 3 days, which can take to over 1 hour to start feeling releif after eating fast carbs sources like candies sugar etc. for example: i injected my usual dose of insuline and ate the amount of carbs which i used to eat but after 2 hours ( the insuline activity should be ending at this time ) anyway i noticed that im having a hypo, then i checked my BG it was 50mg/dl , 2.8 mmol/l then instantly ate a banana and 8 dates after 20 minutes i rechecked and was still at 51mg/dl , 2.8mmol/l then waited another 15 minutes checked again and was still at 50mg/dl same BG then finally after another 30 minutes (1 hour and 5 minutes in total) i checked and just went up to 65 mg/dl , 3.6 mmol/l, then finally after another 20 minutes as for now it raise up to 72 mg/dl im feeling confused on what can be the reason for all of this weird delayed hypo symptoms, is it delayed digestion or something else no idea. pls im asking for help from anyone who experienced or aware of this case.
thanks.

It helps to have something more liquid when treating a hypo as it gets into your system quicker, if I have jelly babies it takes a bit longer for them to work than if I have a juice box. A banana is a good source of long lasting carbs but to start off with if you want to get out of your hypo quickly then try using orange juice or lucozade x

I agree with @Samanthakate you need liquid glucose to treat rather than solid food, it will work much quicker.

Thanks for reply :) i agree that liquid is easily digested and takes shorter time but that it seemed it didnt work the way its supposed with me too the day earlier, since even banana used to make me feel relieved after few minutes, so this was the matter which made me upset lately im having some kinda food poisoning like Diarrh etc so i doubt if i lose carbs i ate in because of fluids i lost or i dunno ... ?

Having one hypo makes you more likely to have another and since you seem to be in a pattern it might be worth slightly reducing your dose for a day?
Otherwise sweets or sugary drinks will act faster than the fruit.
