Hyponatraemia and type 1 diabetes.

Hi,
Anyone out there with type 1 who has been advised to take dioralyte daily to increase sodium levels by doc? I had been suffering dizziness, have developed a tremor with pounding heart/palpitations had to leave work yesterday and get to a+e.Any further advice?

Hi Karen, I was given lots of blood tests and thorough examination.Id had a similar episode in July and had xrays, MRI scan, Holter device for 24 hours at that time.all normal.my diabetes consultant had flagged low sodium 12 months ago but wasn't overly concerned and told me to cut down on water consumption as too much can dilute sodium levels.Anyway I've been taking 2 dioralyte since Wednesday, was advised to drink only when thirsty and have a blood test on Monday to check levels. Still feeling tired though.Hopefully it will improve.
