Hypos after Acute Pancreatitis for non-diabetic

Hi

I had Acute Pancreatitis 16 months ago and since then I have hypos. I know this becasue my Type 1 daughter tests me when I feel bad and my BS is often 2-3mmols.

I don't have high readings, and have been told I may be overproducing insulin after the AP? I have also been told this could be Type 3C diabetes?

Any comments welcomed on a non-diabetic suffering from hypos, please!?

Thanks

Many thanks, the article was interesting. My GP wasn't very concerned and just suggested eating little and often. They dismissed the fact that this started after Acute Pancreatitis

I'll keep an eye on it. My hba1c was tested this week and was normal at 5.5%, but I have had three measured lows this week alone

Thanks

i suffered from accute pancreatitis over 5 years ago so i know what youve been through and i would not wish it on my worst enemy .the first thing i was told about this was its links with diabetes and i think you proberbly know this.and dont you find it strange your daughter is diabetic is there anyone else in your family with it as it sounds like it could run in the family and just because you have not had high readings dose not mean your not diabetig it affects people in different ways.i started with pancreatitis which went to type 2 diabetes then to type 1 and now having to go on a pump mainly because i chose not to believe i had got it .all this has happened in 5 years its cost me my job and a lot more so do yourself a favour and get this checked out . explain and insist on proper tests not just a finger prick it will be worth it just to know. and look on the bright side if you are diabetic you will have your own meter and wont have to cadge your daughters.

Many thanks...I'm glad someone else knows the horrors of Acute Pancreatitis! I will keep an eye on things as I feel something is not right. I have all the other symptoms of diabetes, tiredness, frequent urination, unsatisfied thirst....but my GP just says "you are NOT diabetic"
