When a diabetic goes into a serious Hypo Seizure can you stop the seizure in the early stages ? My husband is type 1 diabetic and I knew he was going to go into a Seizure as he started to twitch but a bottle of Coke was not enough to stop the seizure from happening, or if your levels are this low will nothing stop this from happening ?

Does your husband have a Glucagon Kit in the fridge? These are used in such emergencies where glucose is ineffective or the patient is unresponsive, here is some info about the product and if he doesn't have the kit he should ask his gp to add it to his repeat prescription:

If using glucose to raise BGs check sugars before & after giving glucose. As this can reverse effect, pushing BGs higher than necessary. Leave it 10-20 mins after giving glucose to check again but ensure your husband is conscience & alert.
