I am hungry

If you like savoury foods...Biltong or Beef Jerky, cup of hot Bovril with a teaspoon of mint sauce.
For the Sweet tooth...Frozen berries straight from the bag, strawberries with a dollop of peanut butter are surprisingly nice, a few dark chocolate coated Brazil nuts.

Is this in terms of BG levels? Or fat?:). (I have to put in a smiley when being so bold as to ask someone about their bodily fat levels!)

I certainly don't lose any weight eating a bunch of nuts, for sure, ditto the almond butter. Ditto the brie! But I love not worrying about losing weight - I just concentrate on the BG levels on LCHF, and keep as active as I can. But it's all about our individual metabolisms isn't it? Mind you I say this on the upper end of normal BMI... (If I don't walk a very long mile and do ab exercises and lift weights I gain weight rapidly, and my BG levels rise too.) (I have had recent experience to support this.)

I experience hunger often, as Herr Svea would vouch for (and everyone I have ever lived with would ;)) - so quelling hunger is hugely important to me! As I am truly miserable when hungry. And I do think eating moderate-high levels of fat helps for diabetics like me. The only thing that doesn't affect our blood glucose level! And fills us up. I can't tell you how relieved I was to finally get that idea into my skull! Popcorn = lots of carbs. Pistachios = lots of calories and fat! Latter doesn't screw my poor pancreas and liver around. (I hope!) (Gee I truly hope - else some other thing in my body will start to pack up! Please be right LCHF-ers!)

Sorry Frederic. at the risk of slightly hijacking this thread...

I have done very well with LCHF. Non-diabetic A1C for about 10 months. Ups & downs along the way with just over 6 stone loss in abt 1 year. still want to lose around 4 more.

I get much pleasure from eating nuts whilst watching tv, but even abt 80gms will raise my FBG the next day..really depressing.

Shell-on pistachios are great things to keep your hands occupied when watching movies. Shell-on prawns too, but don't think I'd get away with those in cinemas !

Yes I get this sometimes... usually have about 30-50g of cheese or a couple of tablespoons of thickened cream (yum!)

Apparently when the fat coats the roof of your mouth, that sends a signal to your brain that you have enough calories on board and don't need to feel hungry.

Well, you just explained my life long love affair with ice cream. :)

Macadamia nuts. A 75g packet is 4 g carb, but a) totally delicious, b) fills me up for jours and hours. Also very very good for you. Cashews have too much carb.

I have a cream coffee, or I'm afraid occasionally I eat spoonsful of cream.
