Just wanted to say thank you to all the people replying to my endless questions. I am learning tons about T2 and how my body works in relation to food and in particular spikey carbs.

CHEERS.

If you are getting interested in different types of food, you will probably get a lot out of learning how to cook. Despite having lost 30Kg and dropped my hba1c from 86 to 36, I have never eaten better. Last night I had a duck version of Pad Thai, I normally have a king prawn version. The only real source of carbs are the noodles but, Blue Dragon wholewheat work for me. Very easy to make, tasty and nourishing.

You can enjoy your food with type 2 diabetes, you've just got to think ahead and plan your meals. Soups and stews are a great way to start and a cheap slow cooker is a good investment because not much can go wrong with this type of cooking. You control everything that goes in and adapt to your own taste. Learning about herbs and spices too is great fun and, in essence, you can make a single meal taste mediterranean, indian or chinese/thai with just a few simple changes.
