I am now a pumper

I started on the Medtronic 640G yesterday. Happy as a clam (never understood that saying lol)
Was hypo most of the night, jelly babies came to the rescue on numerous occasions. I am putting that down to still having Tresiba in my system. Then from 9am this morning I have been in the low teens. Bolus wizard changed for the mornings now. See how tonight goes, then a basal test over the weekend :)
Get ready for all the questions very soon lol
 
Fingers firmly crossed for you. Hopefully you and your pump will be a marriage made in Heaven.
 
@porl69 Happy days :)

I'm a 640 user too so any queries happy to help - also agree any residual tresiba would be the cause of your overnight pain, hopefully it's working it's way out of your system now.

Get yourself a copy of 'Pumping insulin' by John Walsh too - a useful read for new pumpers :)

Just bought that for my Kindle, so will be having a read through that over the coming days.

Well this could be the miracle you needed, I wonder if it runs silently - word of mouth says use a belt, don't sling it over your shoulder, taken in and you could be living years................

The title of this message made me think off AA-type meetings: "My name is porl69 and I am a pumper. I have been clean for 2 days now. ..."

I don't know anything about Tresiba but I was advised Lantus could remain in my body for up to 4 days. So you could see some lows for a few more days.

I hope you and Mike have many happy days together in the years to come.

Hi @porl69 , legend !! A match made in NHS land !! ? Make-over every 3 days ??
Less perforations now so your body is less of a leaky vessel (just a theory) !!
Watch the tubing, avoid the door knobs and if you need a suspect for pump misbehaviour
- they say cannula is number one!!

Yeah.....last night I was looking for my Tresiba pen and this morning asking my misses where my Fiasp was...first day in 48 years without sticking a needle in is really strange/odd

Hide them well away, except know where they are just in case - confused ? So am I !!
