I have just had my first Hba1c and cholesterol results since completely changing my diet and coming of all my meds and insulin in November.

Last Hba1c = 64
New Hba1c = 26

Last Cholesterol = 7.8
New Cholesterol = 4

Weight lost since last Hba1c = 33lbs

I am thrilled with my results as I was expecting my cholesterol to have gone up as am quite high fat now. Dancing round the lounge :-D

Say Whaaaaaat? HbA1c =26 WOW! I'm dancing round the lounge for you too, (ever so slightly jealous lol. )

Very well done. :)

Great result - well done.

Thank you. I don't post much on here but I read loads and couldn't have done it without the help and advice of others :-D

Well done. Hopefully now that you are diet controlled since the new year you will continue with your excellent result in the future. Do not be to worried with a small rise in your HbA1c without the drugs holding it down.

A really big well done again.

I concur fully and would suggest that your post is printed out and stuck on the fridges, biscuit tins, 'carb cupboards' ( yep...we have one of them) of anyone who is on the verge of falling off the wagon. Your figures are nothing less than an inspiration,

Wow that's fantastic, well done :joyful: I wish I was in the place you are now but its great knowing that it can be done. Thanks for posting your fab news. :D

Well done... I have just had mine back
Hba1c 41 down from 68..
Cholesterol 4 down from 5
What is a safe level for hba1c?
Well done on your results too @radioma01! HbA1c of 41 or under is non-diabetic, which is the safest level. 42-47 is pre-diabetic, and 48 and over is diabetic.

And @Lemonie fantastic results! A great turnaround in only three months! Well done you! :)

Way to go - that's fantastic! I've just this week come off my meds and will take your experience as inspiration.

Can I join you in a dance around the lounge...? :joyful:

Absolutely brilliant! Congratulations!

I do however think this thread should be in Success Stories.
