Prediabetes I Do Not Know, What I Have

Hello Friends,
Shortly I will be 80. I periodically check my blood glucose. Normallhy It use to be between 4.2 to 6. But for the last 2 months, It shows anywhere between 7-4 to 8.6 I saw my doctor, He checked, then he said. Not to worry. Today, This morning before eating I checked, It read 12.2 I do not know, what to believe ?
Can somebody help me ? Thanks, Butla from Germany

Did your doctor take any blood tests before he told you not to worry? If not, on what basis did he say this? If he did, which test, and what was the result? Without this information we are at a loss. All I can say is your current levels do need investigating by a doctor.
