i don't believe gp's

Fortunately insulin is dispensed in lots of 25 (ampoules or pens) 3 mls of 100 units insulin. It costs me AUD 46 each time (cost to Govt quoted as $469) with 1 repeat and lasts me about 90 days each script.

25?! I get mine in boxes of 5, which with a 3ml pen cartridge lasting 1-2 weeks (basal longer, bolus shorter) works pretty well.

Dispensing singles seems like a nonsense though.

A similar problem has happened to me in Australia. The script program used by doctors has a automatic next dispensing date on it of 3 weeks as most medications are dispensed in lots of one month supply.
I use MedAdvisor to order my repeats that are with my pharmacy, I have found that I can get a repeat before the twenty odd days are up.

I have a full compliment of my medications in hand at any one time.

Being on a pump I only use Novorapid and keep one batch of levemir per 12 months just in case I need to revert to MDI.
