No my levels are all over, anything frm 2.6 upto 18.5,i could do with losing some weight but have had the same appetite frm school im now 40ish and i understand i need to eat more in order to lose the weight lol,ive just realised ive been a member since 2014 and this is the 1st time ive wrote anything on here! XHi Lisal,
Metformin can reduce your appetite.
Is your diabetes under good control, do you need to lose weight?
Thank you xHeyy Lisal
Try eating more fruitsi love strawberries ( (dietitian recommended ) / (diabetic friendly ) ) even though you dont have an appetite your body still needs nutrients to prevent malnutrition and also to prevent hypoglycemia , your sugar reading will be fine but your body cannot run on empty foods , try eating small meals throughout the day , almonds work great for me and small salads also , but generally food that is " alive" all the best Zarah
I must admit i dont fully understand about diabetes (which really i should) i tend to take my tablets when im suppose to,and check my readings frm time to time, the morning 1 is always the highest so i tend to have whole wheat toast,i must admit i feel much better in myself when my bloods are high but when they lower all i do is sleep!I would definitely make an appointment with your GP, if you are getting readings that low and on the meds you are on, which are blood glucose lowering drugs.
Your doctor will advise you on your meds and if you read around the forum, you will get an idea of what you need to do, dietary wise, to get control.
Use your meter, to help you.
Best wishes.

Il make an appointment and have a chat..thanks xYour dosage is too high, and you need an appointment to get your GP to adjust the dosage. What you are describing is the symptoms of fluctuating blood glucose levels.
You will feel better at higher levels because that is what you are use to, but, that is too high. The lethargy is what happens when you go too low!

Hi,
Is there a certain time of day these these extreme lower &'higher levels,occur..?
Hi,
Relatively new to all this, but like you I never feel hungry! One thing I have learnt over the years; and more importantly now; eating 3 meals a day is essential on any diet. As I cant judge mine by hunger pains I try to do it by the time of day. So I will eat when I get up, also around 1230-1pm and again around 6.
It's important to try and eat at regular interfuls and more than just toast or you run risk of malnutrition, other dietry complications like anaemia (this may also be why you sleep a lot) and possible anorexia etc.
Start by introducing small amounts of different foods at each meal time, gradually building up to normal healthy portions then you should start feeling better and loosing weight. Just eating toast maybe why your BS's are all over the place, carbohydrate turns into sugar in the body increasing BS, no food will lead to low BS's and hypoglycemia.
Take back control, you owe it to yourself and your body, so you can start enjoying life again and live it to the full.

I always do 2 slices of toast with a bit of philadelphia spread on sometimes i have the 1 slice sometimes the 2,my lft and thyroids r fine ,my bloods however are not normal but GP says its fine for now, sounds crazy but i have a strange relationship with food,i tend to eat the same things for weeks like porridge but then sicken myself with it,i am about 3 stone overweight and have weighed the same for over 4 year now,i suppose im a nibbler i like to have fresh carrots and raw turnip,my toast is whole wheat or brown bread,i dont have sugar in my tea/coffee im not a sweet kind of person xHow's your kidney function, thyroid, and liver function. What's your BMI? You should not have any extra weight if you are eating only a single slice of toast a day and have been doing this for a few years. Do you have anything on the toast? How many slices do you have at one time? What do you like to eat? Are you keeping yourself from eating something that you would really like to eat? I do not know what a sarnie is but it sounds like something that you do like to eat. If you could plan your ideal day of food what would you have? There is hope and things can much better than this.
I am a sweet kind of person and have to fight it-I envy you there. How are your bloods abnormal? That could help tell you what you need to eat. What other vegetables do you like and do you eat meat? How about eggs?I always do 2 slices of toast with a bit of philadelphia spread on sometimes i have the 1 slice sometimes the 2,my lft and thyroids r fine ,my bloods however are not normal but GP says its fine for now, sounds crazy but i have a strange relationship with food,i tend to eat the same things for weeks like porridge but then sicken myself with it,i am about 3 stone overweight and have weighed the same for over 4 year now,i suppose im a nibbler i like to have fresh carrots and raw turnip,my toast is whole wheat or brown bread,i dont have sugar in my tea/coffee im not a sweet kind of person x
