Hi guys,
This is a great forum with so much info. Ok I have a question, up till a few months back my sugar levels were always like 12-14 fasting in the morning so no matter how much insulin I was injecting and taking other drugs it never came down. Here is my dose that I was taking:
I am TYPE 2.
14 X 2 units insulin novamix 30
1.5 tabs of Glyclazide in morning and 2 tabs at night
2 tabs metformin at night
1 tab for cholestrol
Thats very high dose but still I wasnt able to control. But then I found out a program to turn this around and I changed my diet and suddenly my levels came down and down to the point where I had to reduce my dose to:
6 X 2 units insulin
1 tab Glyclazide at night
1 tab metformin morning and 1 at night
I also go to the gym and do weight training plus cardio. Now my levels in the morning are always under 6 and goes well through out the day.
Now my question is:
I've noticed if my BS level is around 11-12 before going to gym, it goes down to around 6.5-7.5 after the gym so that means i reduce 5 units by just working out. Now if my BS level is 7.5 to start with and go the gym, the level stays around 7 after the gym. I never get hypo no matter what. Does that mean I am doing something wrong? or does it mean my body is functioning like it should in normal conditions?
My nurse told me if I keep following my current routine then theres a good chance I'll be off my medications all together soon.
