Hi,
IMHO If you know these people well and you are going there at a time when it is an obvious meal time, then I would ask them if they want you to bring anything with you. If it is someone that you don't know well then I suggest you say, Looking forward to coming to see you, I will have my lunch/dinner before I come and see what their answer is.

- hypocrisy, prejudice and the corrupt legal system (never got compensation I deserved from an accident)
Or say you may be a little late as you'll have to get yourself something to eat before arriving. If they simply say "don't worry about that" if you're still concerned-you now know they're arranging food so ask if you need to dress to go out or will it be at home.
