I have been diabetic since 97 and yet I feel I don't hardly know anything about it. I see people that have been diagnosed this year seem to know way more about diabetes than I do. I joined this forum in 2010 and I admit it wasn't till later 2010/early 2011 that from using this forum that carbs affect yr bg levels. My question is sometimes I really do not understand the BG levels I get sometimes eg, Tuesday night my BG was 9 when i was getting ready for bed. I ate approx 120g of milk chocolate. I expected my morning BG to be high but it was 6.4. Last night my bedtime BG was 9.5 I didn't eat anything so expect my BG to have gone down a bit by morning. I tested when I got up it was 10, I tested again before my breakfast about an hour and half later and it had gone down to 9.8. Other times I've tested when I've got up and then again an hour and half later when I have my breakfast it has usually gone up by 2mmols, I just don't understand it at all! Any ideas?
