a difference of 1mmol falls well within the tolerances of most testing meters on the market today..........
so I wouldn't really make any conclusions from that single test...........
maybe try again tomorrow morning....
It's not just the 2hr test you have to look at but the rise from where you started, as you were 6.3 before eating a rise of 1 is pretty good, if you had started lower say 5.3 your 2hr test would probably have been lower -I had a morning BS of 6.3. Ate half a Lidl's High Protein roll with peanut butter and 2 hours later it was 7.3Does that mean that one or other of them is off limits to me?
I have my first blood test next Monday since starting LC/HF and I so want it to be reduced enough to impress the DN.
It's up to you copey399, we all have to set our own goal/limits, you were only 1mmol higher in 2hrs so its not too bad. But was your 6•3 test done just before you had the roll or was it a fasting test first thing this morning ? And was your 7•3 test on its way down or still going up at 2hrs. To truly test the roll I would test at 1hr & 2hr and then every 30 min until my levels had returned to the pre meal reading. That way you know how high the spike was & how long it takes to return to normal
Not necessarily - if Copey eats pretty soon after waking up then the fasting could equally serve as pre-prandrial, could it not? That's what I do. I test when I get up and brekkie is 15 minutes later.I'm sorry copey399 but it looks like you've been sticking pins in your fingers and the only thing you've got out of it is sore fingers
OK so if that 6•3 was your fasting test and not a preprandial test that means that we really have no idea what your lidl roll did to your sugar levels because by the time you had your roll you could have been lower than 6•3, or if your friendly liver decided that you needed a quick shot of glucose to help you along you could have possibly been higher.

That is also what I do. It isn't reasonable to test fasting and then pre-breakfast if there is only 10 minutes difference. All I would be doing is wasting strips.
I agree that in the great scheme of things 10 or 15 min will not make much difference to the test but how about 1 or 2hrs ? If all you want is to check on how your levels are doing through the day then 3 or 4 random tests is fine but if you are trying to discover how a particular food /meal affects you then a test first thing in the morning and another at 11am after your lidl roll is not going to give you any useful information.
