Tons of advice about mental health issues providing real support. There are phone, text & email options to obtain help, advice or information. There's even a crisis line if it ever becomes unbearable. They hold drop in sessions & make home visits to people who find it difficult to get out and about for whatever reason, be it a physical or mental health obstacle. There's also a vibrant online community support network where you can just be yourself, safely share, listen & be heard. It's well worth a look & can guide you to access other services should you decide that's what's needed. The first step to getting help and making changes is always difficult....and scary. But you can effect these changes from the safety of your own home, in your own time, with people who want to help. Please take a look. Explore your options. And try not to allow past experiences with ineffective, and frankly cruel, counsellors to colour your judgement. Mind is a first class organisation, and I do believe it could be a wonderful lifeline for you if you just reach out. You have courage...and you can do this Sarah. I'm just down the road from you in Newcastle, and I know how the local Mind centre support services can change people's lives.
