Alison you rant on as much as you like, it will do you more good than harm, we all need to let the safety valve go off at times, especially when frustration kicks in. Giving up the weed is very hard, trust me; I am now 3 years down the line and even now I get the urge occasionally, I use my E-Cig still ! all be it, with as little or no nicotine in it to keep me going, but it will ease with time and the benefits are well worth it. you say sick of salads is that mostly what you are eating, as if you are not getting enough fat and proteins your body does tend to go in limp mode and will try and retain fat for it's reserves as long as possible, try upping the intake of these, also exercise try and keep it moderate during weight loss stage, I notice if I go mad my weight loss falters, and does not start again until I ease off with the exercise a bit. And lastly stop kicking yourself, I say to myself, it took me years to cause me Diabetes, I sure ain't going to fix thing's in a few weeks or months, One day at a time and keep chipping away, you'll get there.alison m said:thats it I give up, have not lost an ounce of weight since diagnosed in early may, have done everything I can, so sick of eating salads, I think I might as well go back to what I was eating because all this isn't doing me any good at all, plus my BG results seem to be gettting higher instead of lower, :x will make an appointment to see the doc because of how I am feeling, tiredness is really getting to me now. I wish I had never seen the doctor to begin with, now all I can think of is diabeties and what I can and can't eat, I have given up everything I really enjoyed including smoking, just might go and buy a huge bar of chocolate and be happy for once if only for a short time. It doesn't help when one's son tells you "mum your nearly 60, your metabolism has slowed down, what do you expect" well I tell you what i expect, I expect to have lost a least a couple of kilos after trying so hard. Sorry rant over and before you all start shouting at me I am not going to eat chocolate even though I do feel like it, I promise.
