I went to out on my usual wensday trip helping the elderly i do escorting! Helping old people get out to do shopping! My fiancee drives and i escort!
This afternoon i started to feel a bit off a feeling i had not really noticed before!
My bloood sugar on waking was 7.2,
2 hours after breakfast 14.0, pouched egg.

Then came the big one as coming back in the minibus my fiancee drives to take the old folks around! I could feel like my arms and legs were shaking and i was feeling sick! My tongue felt like it was sticking to the roof of my mouth, my lips were so dry and throat really sore,
When i took my blood sugar it was standing at 3.1.
I decided to cook evening meal early at 4.30pm,
We had 2 sausages, a small handfull of chips and a slice of bread and beans,
two hours later my blood sugar had only risen to 4.8,
Had two squares of chocolate that have made me feel sick, took blood sugar up to 6.8,
I have appointment tomorrow with nurse and i think that i have to bring this up with the nurse i see tomorrow afternoon!
I am now getting worried as things are changing for the worse all the time! As being on no medication i am suffering low blood sugars real bad this is not good i am thinking!
Sorry to whine on i just got scared and had to get rid of it!
I have not slept in a week i have slept the odd 5 mins here and there!

Hi Totsy
been there myself when i got thrown! It hurts like hell! I was lucky back then i didnot have any problems with health! Well not diabetic!
I must admit i did pass out when they did xrays just too much pulling my foot from side to side!

Hi Sandy

Just to say all the best for your appointment tomorrow - make a list of everything you need to tell the GP.

I am wondering if you left it too long between food today - I dont think it is good for us to go too long - whenever that happens to me I usually get trouble with my ibs as well!!

Anyway, hope to hear from you after you have seen the GP.

Good night. Jude x

Oh Sandy, that's bad news - and pretty scary, but on the up side at least now you know what a hypo feels like so next time you will know what it is.

Can I recommend that you go to the chemists and get yourself a packet of Dextrose or Lucozade tablets, and make sure that you always carry them with you. Then if you ever feel a hypo coming on again just pop one or two in your mouth and they will very quickly bring your BS level back up to normal. If your next meal is quite soon then that should be all you need, but if your meal is still some way off then have some additional carbs (bread or biscuit) to tide you over. Never try to treat a hypo with chocolate because you need the sugar fast and the fat in chocolate slows down the absorbtion of the sugar.

Hi Sandy

How did you get on with your GP appointment? Hope your bgs have been more stable today.

Waiting to hear from you. Jude :)
