I usually respond to statements like that with 'can you have it? yes? then so can I!'
Speaking of which, I remember being astounded on my DAFNE course by a lady showing us her daily meal plan and she had cereal with a spoonful of sugar on it?! Opened up a whole new world for me seeing as I had not eaten raw sugar for 24 years!!
Debloubed said:nowt as strange as folk Nige! My sugar lady had good BG numbers as she had been taught to 'allow' for the sugar pre-DAFNE but still, she was walking a fine line in my opinion!she also suffered from crashing lows post meal which was explained by her over compensating for the sugar, never occured to her to leave it off her cereal  good news is, now she's DAFNE compliant she can count for the sugar and enjoy her weetabix!

exactly! she wasn't counting for the sugar, she was guessing how much insulin to take and getting it all wrong  in other words, she didn't have a cluemy point was she was eating raw sugar which was something I hadn't done for over 20 years!
