Hey guys! I have a new dilemma. I did non fasting blood sugar test(finger prick) a few days ago and I was 66 before eating, 77 after eating. I did a fasting test(finger prick)after and was 83, which was normal. Tonight A doctor did a non fasting blood test(took my blood for a Cbc test) to see if the glucose level in my blood is high and I'm at 149!!! It wasn't even a full 2 hours either!!! I'm kinda worried right now. I make a appointment with my Private doctor to do the hbac1 but I'm scared. I was lightheaded and having all sorts of symptoms which is why I went to the ER. I did eat Popeyes before that blood test so I'm assured by people that eating, and especially that type of food, played a part. I'm really scared

I had no keystones or glucose in my urine.

Most likely it was all the carbs you ate. No point in worrying. Definitely stop eating junk food.

Thank you. It wasn't a full 2 hours when I took that test so it worries me that if it was, my results would have been higher. All my test before were low or normal with the finger test.

I woke up with such a headache, light headed and confused which is why I went to the doctor.

Your readings are all perfectly normal. May I ask why you are worried and resorting to test your BG levels?

That could be anything @Kalisun1 Your 'head' symptoms sound unpleasant so maybe it'd be best to see a doctor to put your mind at rest about those, and get a general once-over (things like blood pressure, etc, etc) But it could just be something 'minor' like a migraine or similar, so don't panic :)

From the blood sugar figures you have given us, there's nothing to suggest you have diabetes. However, none of us are medical professionals so if you continue to have concerns, please speak to a doctor.

Well to put your mind at rest your BG levels are very similar to my wife's from the peak after food and the pre-food/fasting numbers. I would therefore suggest, as @azure says, that you seek medical advice from your doctor. It could be nothing (just a minor infection) but better to get it checked out. Hopefully you will get sent away with a clean bill of health.

Kalisun, can I ask you if you have anxiety of any sort, but especially regarding your health? I'm also wondering if you are quite young..hope you don't mind the questions?
