I have been to see the diabetes specialist.

I have seen the diabetes specalist this afternoon and she said for me to change to gliclazide and insulin to get my diabetes under control I took my bs when I got home and it was 27.6 so had insulin will test in 2 hours to see where I am at will bs level.

I am going on holiday on Sunday so this should be interesting.....

Hopefully I can loose more weight still.

I've had a hi on a blood meter before so that is 33.3 plus and once I started on insulin it took a few days to come down so don't be in a hurry to have your sugars to come down but I am on 5 injections a day and mine are normal with the odd high and hypo so that tells you how insulin Will fetch it down for you and you may have a few ketones in your system as well so that is why you need to keep on insulin to keep them out of you
 
@Colourfull500 ultimately what matters is getting those numbers under control. Insulin may take a few days to bring levels down. Where are you going on holiday?

Hello kittycat,

My blood sugar levels came back down to 10.2 last night and are back up @t 22.2 now just done them hopefully they will go back down I've just used my insulin so will check in 2 hours.
