I have had a statin tablet and eaten a grapefruit why can you not have both together I didnt realise till afterwards what do I do?????

"Grapefruit juice increases the level of simvastatin in your blood and makes side effects more likely. Atorvastatin interacts with grapefruit juice if you drink large quantities (more than 1.2 litres daily), but an occasional glass is thought to be safe."

Looks like you're all good as long as you don't have too much grapefruit. :)

I don't take statins, so have no experience of this, however, apparently the interaction of statin and grapefruit can make the statin stay in the body longer than usual, leading to an unwanted build up.

I would be surprised if an isolated incident would cause harm, but of course you can ring NHS 111 for some advice if you have concerns.
 
Have to agree with the majority I grapefruit isn’t going to harm bit like one isolated fag causing causing known side effects , to be honest I havE taken statins for years and I used to love grapefruit I was unaware at the time about grapefruit and statins I had more than the occasional one don’t know how it affected me but am still alive and very much kicking ! I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about
