Hi all thanks for all the info :¬)
Today is a lot better Phew! 6.1 on waking (horizontal) and 7.1 after getting up (vertical)
As you have all said I believe it will slowly get back down to my normal 5-6 base line :¬)
I dont actually need to eat Chinese and I assumed it would just spike me quite badly, but I didn't expect it to do what it did hehe
I wont be eating it again that's for sure :¬)
Thanks
4 days in and I have a good sensor this time :¬) its almost the same as the blood prick tests (Libre sticks)
I am now sure the placement of the sensor is key as I now know I have hit underlying anatomy (hit muscle blood vessels etc) im sure this causes my "Bad" sensors
In terms of sensor placement; are you following the product guidance? Are you placing it on an area with subcutaneous fat?
I'm sorry. I'm not trying to ask very personal questions, but having had a fair number of sensors reading well off the mark, I've been trying, for ages, to work out if my skinny, little, wiry frame is at least part of the equation. (I paint such a lovely picture of myself)
There was probably monosodium glutamate in nearly everything too.
that does terrible things to me for days.
The first sign is a raging thirst, then my bg goes screwy.
Drink plenty, go back to normal eating, and wait it out.
Don't worrit - this too shall pass!
I'll pass if you don't mind. That concoction would also make me very poorly indeed. I think the worst headache I ever had was after a Chinese meal - probably the last one I ever ate, about 30 years ago. I could hardly move for about 3 days. I'm okay with caffeine, but my sister is very poorly with it - I even keep a separate cafetiere for her. I have to choose foods like pork scratchings carefully as many of the brands use MSG for flavouring.I have an open offer to anyone: let's swap bodies for a day or two. they can eat aspartame, caffiene, MSG and various food colourings and then enjoy the effects.
Note how I was speaking from personal experience?
There have had similar 'not harmful' comments previously on the forum about artificial sweeteners, MSG and various food additives.
To those of us 'blessed' with sensitivities to these things, all the supposedly 'scientific' evidence in the world is never going to invalidate our personal experiences.
It gets rather tiresome when someone who doesn't have these reactions to foods and additives goes around claiming that people like myself
- don't have such reactions
- it is in our imagination
- we are scaremongering

Not seen those, they look good. I can't remember the brand I get but I've only seen them in Asda and they're just pork and salt. I wish you hadn't mentioned anchovies, I'm going to have to raid my cupboards and see if I have a tin to pop some on my spinach salad. I crave salt and flavour far more than sweet these days.Have you tried Angelsey Posh ones? Best I have yet found.

As you were!

Wow, that's good to know. Not to panic @madusmacus you are experiencing what many of us experience when we eat a carb loaded meal. Personally, if I ate a meal like that it would take about 8 to 10days before my bs levels returned to normal. I found this out when I ate bread rolls two days running for lunch and also ate some of my husband's veg curry same day (sauce high carb + rice!) That's all it took for me. Don't despair, keep low carbing and your levels will eventually return to normal. Good luck!
Waitrose sell them 89p a pack
I am the opposite, exercise pushes my BG upHow do you exercise? I ask as I had a high the other week after a pasty, more an experiment and the result predictable, but after a 45 minute hard cardio session it was back in the normal range. I am new to this but I have found for me excess food can be worked off rather than stopping my usual routing. Just a different view point on the subject. Also, forgive yourself the once in a while indulgences. they make life worth while, but you may have to work them off!
