I honestly don't know what to do. My blood sugars was over 100 I am now on glucide take 4 Metformins a day and statin. I am struggling with my diet. I'm only 34 I just want advice I have three kids and don't want to die young.

Any help or support I have been exercising but it's my diet

What is your usual diet like?
I find that diet is what makes the most difference to my numbers.
Chocolate and carbs really. Although I stopped snacking for a bit but then I blow out. Today I've had lots of chocolate I'm just scared really. My dad passed away at 37 with diabetes and I'm doing the same. I guess I need more will power

I have been eating eggs more. The nurse told me to cut out sugar and carbs. I haven't done that they've put me on more medication

chocolate, dark 85%+ generally has less carbs than milk chocolate. small piece on tongue let melt :) worth trying to switch over to lower carb variant.

holland and barrets have a few keto chocolate bars some are nice! some are terrible .. really is personal taste worth a wee shot.

Snack wise i graze on a fair amount nuts which are lot lower than likes of a packet of crisps/chocolate bars.

Did you let the DSN/Dr know that you haven't been able to cut out sugar and carbs and how feeling in general?

You've said you've been exercising, some forms can increase sugar levels tempory (anaerobic ) , whilst more gentler (aerobic) (walking/gentle swimming) can decrease them and helps with insulin resistance. If its possible you could go for short walks after meals which may help a little?

I suspect that overindulgence is triggered by a lack of nutrition - sudden binges after abstinence being the response to a lack of something vital.
My breakfasts of steak and mushrooms with a little onion might seem strange now that cereal is considered apt, but it would not have been the case in previous centuries, before Mr Kellogg started his campaigns.
Chocolate is actually fine, it is the addition of loads of sugar to make the bars cheaper which cause us problems. High cocoa options used to be more plentiful before the last price hike, but there are still some around.

Recently I have been back to more salads, now that the weather is warmer, but being bored with previous options I have been grating carrot and red leicester cheese, adding coleslaw, chopped beetroot and celery, grated radishes and sliced cucumber.

When there has been a cold snap I made Balti dishes and served them with cauliflower.. I made 'sponge puddings' using coconut and almond four as a base and served them with yoghurt.

Trying to eat just small amounts of higher carb foods doesn't seem to work for me.
