I think I am in ketosis (on keto diet)

Were you feeling quite thirsty? Dry mouth? Or increased urination
I was doing a 5 day fat fast at the time and drank a planned several pints of water a day, so I wasn't thirsty but did need more trips to the loo as I was drinking so much.

My blood ketones have risen to 4mmol/l after eating so I will call as I am very concerned

You are right in nutritional ketosis which is precisely the aim of the diet you are following.

If you aren't taking any medication than you are super fine.

Edit to add I'm in fact rather jealous...

If you are thirsty then maybe drink some water?

I think I'm just concerned I may have inadvertently got DKA.

Yeah I have been drinking a lot of water. I guess I am just worried due to my dry mouth and increased thirst/urination. I am clearly not familiar with the keto diet as I keep panicking with high readings.

Your reading are perfectly normal..

For example I just finished a 45 hour fast and I had Blood sugar of 4.1 and ketones of 2.5
Hence my being jealous of your levels.

Ketoacidosis is high blood glucose and high levels of ketones (unless brought about by specific medications)
You don't have this problem.

If your blood sugars are over 13 mmol/l for a continuous period of time and you are ill then you should test your blood ketones and phone 111 if you are concerned. Otherwise, you are in nutritional ketosis. My ketones are between 2 and 4 usually due to my low carbohydrate diet and intermittent fasting which is normal. I tested mine to begin with to see if my diet was working. I don't test them now.

Sorry I was unable to provide an update on my previous post - unsure how to navigate

But I posted a concern regarding DKA

My blood sugars are 4.7mmol upon waking
My main concern is I have now tested my blood ketone levels too and they show up as 2.9mmol upon waking.

I have tested them again at lunchtime and it is still 2.9mmol

As previously mentioned my urine yesterday also showed ketones.

When I read online it says I am at risk of diabetic ketoacidosis.
My concern is I do have a dry mouth and I am quite thirsty so not sure if this is why.
Resurgam is spot on, you have ketones, only because you are on a keto diet, therefore it's normal. It means that the body is using fat as fuel.
Ketoacidosis is a totally different condition many people and websites get them mixed up.

On a strict Keto diet you need to drink plenty, as the body flushes out your system, also you need salt intake as this is flushed also. You seem to be worrying because the Keto diet is working as it should. Unless you have high blood sugar levels at the same time then the Ketone levels are excellent.
