Hiya, thanks for your reply. No you dont sound stupid at all. You must find it hard with trying not to eat the sugary things and be popular and accepted by your pals and after school/college telling mum/dad you havent eaten sweets etc to avoid a nagging? Do you have a best/close friend you could confide in the truth? so when sweets n choccys are offered to you both you and your best/close friend could both say no thanks together ? If the questions get asked why you dont want them say you had some earlier [ fobb them off ] Do you get on well with the other diabetic girl? try and have a chat with her? ask her why she accepts the sweets n choccys? you might be shocked to find n hear she feels exactly the same as you...? It could well be possible? You are both doing the same things n want to be part of the gang and accepted. People will naturally ask you what your things are through curiosity and not knowing anything about being a diabetic, yep it is a bit put on you when people ask the questions, even I mumble some quick reply! [n hope I have got away with it
!] A small reply can become massive question time! n then you feel under pressure to reveal more about your private n personal diabetic life! Hope I have helped you some? Anna.x
