I wanted a partner and baby. Scared of the mood and management required for diabetes. I tried semaglutide in August last I thought it would solve all of my problems. I didn't tolerate it well
My blood sugar is in control. ⁷
Hi @mh234 no reason why diabetes has to stop you from having either a partner or a baby but I think you would need to discuss pregnancy with your doctors. (I'm assuming you are T2 and I don't know much about T2 pregnancies but I have had two T1 ones and they were manageable, though complicated by the diabetes.)
Not sure what you mean by "mood" here? Yes, diabetes is a life long illness (though some T2s can go into long term remission via low carb?) Many of us get "diabetes burn out" at times when we get fed up with dealing with our diabetes, but unfortunately it doesn't go away if we ignore it. If you want moral support about coping with the condition then these forums are a safe place to vent.
In short, T2 will not prevent either of these, the faff is not that much, and if you have good control mood swings are not too much.. and mood may not just be related to the T2
The right person will understand and help
Even as a T1 with multiple injections, hypos, blood tests many still have very good relationships
I'm on a pump now and not had a relationship since being on it, I see the pump as a bit of a barrier, but I am also over 50 past having children and set in may ways
