Does anyone know when (if ever) IBG Star are going to release a monitor to fit the not so new iPhones? I've been using the software to record my results but could really do with the monitor now. The last I heard it was going to be out December 2013.

I don't think they will I think the next gen glucose meters will be Bluetooth, however you can buy a lead from apple that will convert from the old 30 pin to the lightening connector but it does cost £25

you can use the monitor without it connected to the iphone and then just connect periodically to upload the numbers if you don't want to carry the adaptor with you all the time. Having said that, the iBGStar and adaptor combo is still smaller than most meters.

No you need either a Bluetooth bg reader or a iphone compatible meter

Type 2 diagnosed 24/01/2013.
Novomix 30, Victoza, metformin 2000mg sr (but not taking them as they play havoc with my insides,

The bg star also plugs in to the iphone if you order the lead from them and it's free of charge as well

You can buy the adapter on eBay for a cheaper price.

To be honest with you I have tried using 2 cheaper adapters and they didn't work. I have now changed meters now to the dario system and that plugs in to the headphone socket so it can be used with iphone4 and iphone5 as well as being comparable with android

Didn't you use the new BGStar meter? The one that estimates your HbA1c. over time?

I did for a short time but that meter is not compatible with the iphone you can only use it with PC and there software isn't compatible with windows 7 or 8

Oh right, I have just ordered a BGi star because I've just started using my daughters iPhone 4s, so I thought I'd get a meter to use with it, suppose it will keep me going for a year or two...

I used it when I was first diagnosed, but swapped to the SD Codefree meter, because the strips are significantly more cost effective, and I am self-funding. I liked that I just plugged it into my phone and the reading was recorded without any further effort. You can also email yourself, or anyone else for that matter, your data files, which can be useful.
