iBGStar BGM for Android?

Having always been a Google man I have never owned an iphone but after seeing this device in action I'm seriously thinking of converting to Apple. I know most of the cool apps are normally available on the iphone first but how long will it be until we have a similar BGM that is compatible with android devices with strips available in the NHS???........

LOL having istar on android!

From what I gather the reason its available on (most) iphones is that they dont change the charger location/headphone jack as well as running the app. Could you imagine makeing one for EVERY version of phone with the corrisponding app? doubt that will happen anytime soon... (ever!)

Coversion is due my friend ;)

I have seen some negative posts about istar however so research it first if I were you...

You'll have to make sure that if you get a newer model of iPhone that the iBGStar is compatible with it, as they changed the size of the charger port from the iPhone 5 onward (might have been the 4S they changed, but I'm pretty confident that it was the 5)

As an Android enthusiast though, I'd say... iPhones suck!

Yo!

There is this one which according to an article I've just read has recently been approved in Europe. It plugs into your headphone jack and is tiny. Although it may take some time getting to the UK it gives the WHOLE smart phone diabetic community something to look forward to and not just one portion of it.
I don't see why the ibgstar (regardless of its iname) or any other similar product should ever be made only for apple products. Smart phone does not mean iphone. You design a product/app for use with an iphone then it should be on all platforms. This sounds like a rant from a tech forum but its a no brainer and should not still be happening!

Thanks for your input steve but I won't be buying into Apple just yet! ........

I converted to Apple and got an iPhone 4s in order to use an iBGStar and app on the phone.
Best thing I ever did! Wouldn't go back now and love using both the app and the phone. Do it! You won't regret it.

There was a recent thread about someone thinking their iBGStar might be reading inaccurately. I recently spent a week on a continuous glucose monitor and can say for certain that it gives accurate results, it's always spot on with my HBA1C as well.

Just do it! 8)
