Just wondering if anyone has purchased or is thinking of purchasing this as advertised on Diabetes.co.uk this week? If so would be be interested to know how you get on with it? Also, if you use it in conjunction with the iphone app :?:

Hi Robert72, thanks for your reply - I wonder is it easy to use as opposed to other methods - and do prefer the Diabetes Diary app purely because you are used to it, or do you just find it better than the app shown?

It is just as easy as any other meter - you can even use it as a stand alone device and it's very small compared to other meters. You can also sync the data with the app later if you use it as a stand alone device.
The app is OK - it makes nice graphs of your BG levels and you can enter meds or insulin doses and carbs eaten but it only displays graph of your BGs. I believe that all the data can be sent via email, but I'd prefer to be able to see all the data in the app it's self, as I can with Diabetes Diary... but that's just me

I use the Medisana GlucoDock and have found it better than any other as it also allows me to use other devices to keep track of things like blood pressure and temperature. I looked at the iBGstar before going with the GlucoDock and could not find many outlets for the test strips so that turned me off.
I have also used the Contour USB which is a good meter but the test strips are expensive (aren't they all?!) and the software is nothing to write home about.
I dumped the One Touch stuff as it was simply too bulky but I love the Multiclix lancet device. My daily combination is the GlucoDock with the Multiclix lancet and the Contour USB as a backup. GlucoDock can be used with iPhones and iPads and the software is free from the App Store like all the others going down this route.

Hi Robert72, you have a script for them, can I ask how you managed that, my GP is soooo against self testing?
Hi Robert72, ok, I guess that makes sense, but still cannot see why they are so against T2s testing.
