Unless you are definitely T1, not everyone with diabetes needs insulin.

If your idiopathic diabetes, is idiopathic diabetes insipidus it is quite different from other forms of diabetes, and treated differently; usually with a synthetic hormone to help the pituitary work better.
If your idiopathic diabetes is something else, it could be helpful to post a bit more details of what you have been diagnosed with.
