If you are sick...

I got thinking last night (dangerous!), before Xmas (pre diagnosis) I had a bad stomach upset, following which I followed the BRAT diet to get back on track, I.e. Bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. Obviously every single one of them is going to be bad for me (low carbing to get my sugars down), so what do you eat following a bout of sickness/stomach issues??? Thought it worth asking before I get ill!

Jewish penicillin for sure

That's right :)

Not sure if there's any truth in it but I always give my kids chicken soup when they were ill, if anything it's easy to eat and easier to digest.

I've had this problem!

Just about everything suggested for gyppie tums is high carb.

My solution was to relax my low carbiness (a bit!)
And do exactly what noblehead suggests - homemade chicken soup.

Recently, I have been drinking knorr stock pot (stock cubes in a jelly format), and one of those with hot water and a splash of cream makes a fab instant soup substitute.

Yoghurt would also be good.

Over the past year or two I've been finding that grains give me heartburn, so it won't be an ordeal to avoid toast and stuff next time the bug strikes... :)
