That sounds familiar. On occasion I have taken suppliments and have reacted badly. No every time, but with some brands the reaction was there, nausea and weakness. A possible food allergy?I'm flabbergasted!
My immune system seems to have gone to none existence.
I'm ill again but my bgs are good and I'm losing weight. Taking multivitamins and vit d supplements. I'm sure the multivitamins are causing the problem?
Everytime I take them I'm ill. My immune system walks out on strike!
Hospital has requested their use.
Anyone know why?
Could I have court a bug before I restarted multivitamins which showed their need by hospital blood test?
Unsure which tests I've had done. Will find out thou.
Tempting to stop MVs but won't as I think I've answered my own query!
Although I'm open you your ideas incase I've missed something.
You might be right. Tongue not so swollen these days. I thought too many almonds but haven't had nuts for months. That sounds familiar. On occasion I have taken suppliments and have reacted badly. No every time, but with some brands the reaction was there, nausea and weakness. A possible food allergy?
I wonder if it will be ok to take with all my meds?@ickihun Sorry you are feeling unwell.
I know this maybe a bit late to suggest but have you tried Mallow tea, It is a herbal remedy that has been used for hundreds of years and is known to have some beneficial properties it is high in anti oxidants, is anti inflammatory and has antibiotic properties as well. Also animal tests have shown it to reduce blood sugars. I now have a cup every night at bed time it is believed to help insomnia as well. It helps me get to sleep. It is good for respiratory problems.

Mallow has a rich ethnomedicinal history and has been used since ancient Greece and Roman times. The leaves and shoots of common mallow have been used as food sources since the 8th century BC. 1 The aboveground portions of the plant have been used in pancakes and salads, cooked as greens, and used as stuffing. 5 The immature fruits may be consumed raw as a snack. 6
Ethnomedicinal references document the plant's efficacy as an anti-inflammatory for the respiratory tract, GI tract, and the skin. 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 The plant can be used topically or in a bath to treat abscesses, bruises, burns, dermatitis, swellings, and varicose ulcers. 4 , 7 A decoction may be chewed, gargled, or used as a wash to treat sore throat as well as mouth, throat, and gingival inflammations. 9 , 12 Respiratory conditions, such as bronchitis and whooping cough, can also be treated with a decoction. 3 , 10 It may be used as a compress on the stomach to help heal abdominal pains. 11 Mallow may be taken as food to treat constipation or similar GI discomfort. 4 , 12 Other uses have been documented. 4
The mucous compounds in the plant species are of commercial interest, particularly in dermatology and cosmetic preparations. The plant species has been used to treat acne. 4 , 9 , 12 , 13"

I take an awful lot of meds and has caused me no problems and so far as I have read it has no contraindications apart from its propensity to lower BG levels and has no noted interactions with drugs or medications.I wonder if it will be ok to take with all my meds?
It's asthma Paul, I think.Sorry to hear you're having a tough time @ickihun, pal. You are such an encouraging force on the site. so you absolutely need to feel batter tomorrow! Sort it out, woman!. Tramadol certainly helped me when pain was making it more than difficult to sleep. Hope you have some sweet dreams as the week improves.
Paul
It's asthma Paul, I think.
I was asked to reduce what asthma nurse thought was overdosing on a reliever inhaler. On top of a sickness bug then left with a cough inhalers couldnt support.
Ive gone back to maximum inhalers. It has relieved my choking/breathlessness for sleep and propped up chest so far less coughing but im waking in agony from pressure on my lower back in bed. Making bulging disc pain worse!
Im like a unoiled robot at mo with pain. Argh!!!
My fbg is 5.4 due to excellent basal insulin and controlled bgs before bed.
I just wish this virus or inflammation or allergy would do one.
I'm going to try John's supplement next week if no reprieve.
Its quite scary as i dont really know enough about asthma to control it better. Newly diagnosed as asthmatic and need to keep sugars good for operation.
I didnt realise you can have asthma for month on month without feeling normal? The cough thing is off bug but hanging around far too long. GP said no chest infection so at least no more tablets. Im against steriods as im trying to lose weight, not add.
Thanks for your posts too @pleinster .I really feel for you, pal. It's hard enough just managing the diabetes without having other stuff to deal with (particularly things which hinder you so much). I hope it's under control soon. I am against steroids too (as they caused by diabetes) but I still have to take a small dose to help prevent rejection of my transplant graft. One thing at a time would be nice, eh? Good luck.
