I'm flabbergasted!
My immune system seems to have gone to none existence.
I'm ill again but my bgs are good and I'm losing weight. Taking multivitamins and vit d supplements. I'm sure the multivitamins are causing the problem?

Everytime I take them I'm ill. My immune system walks out on strike!

Hospital has requested their use.

Anyone know why?

Could I have court a bug before I restarted multivitamins which showed their need by hospital blood test?
Unsure which tests I've had done. Will find out thou.

Tempting to stop MVs but won't as I think I've answered my own query!
Although I'm open you your ideas incase I've missed something.

That sounds familiar. On occasion I have taken suppliments and have reacted badly. No every time, but with some brands the reaction was there, nausea and weakness. A possible food allergy?

No nausea now. Did have with children's pasted on sickness bug thou. Cough still lingering which is kicking off asthma. Nights are worse!

Back from gp to check for chest infection. None thank god. Virus only. Asthma nurse suggested sleeping in sitting position tonight and til virus has gone. :(
Taking sofa padding to bed tonight. God only knows if I'll sleep. I've cancelled hospital appointment for tomorrow. I'll eat my hat I'll get a full nights sleep.
I'm a bit scared as november I was like this and couldnt breath at all in the end.
Keep getting waves of dizziness as if I'm going to pass out. Told gp why I stopped my statin and he agrees my cholesterol levels are only a bit higher on saturated fats, which I no longer have, intentionally. Hoping for my regular 3.9 or 4.1 again in my blood test next week. Hba1c being done again too. Hoping for 53 or lower.
Liver will be checked again to see if fatty liver risk reducing.

I'm delighted have no infection nor need steriods. :)
I'm in loads of pain (going to take tramadol) and need a good sleep.
Think I should try and settle down for a possible early night. I might get at least a chance of some sleep. ;)

I wish I didn't fear hospital. I'm trying to ignore the fact my op will mean a stay in. I'm concentrating on the weight loss I'm sooooo looking forward to.
Ill days like these few days remind me why I need it so much.
I'd better get rid of this asthma thing. I hate it the most. So rehabilitating. My crutch aids my walking problem but inhalers I've still not found the perfect solution, especially in illness.

You might be right. Tongue not so swollen these days. I thought too many almonds but haven't had nuts for months.
To be honest I don't eat much, cravings are long gone now. Had ham slices and 2 cod fish fingers for lunch and had half a thin pizza for tea without base. Tomatoes do me good. Had a treat of regular vanilla scoop.
Fish, protein bread and peppers with soft low fat cheese planned tomorrow.

Sorry to hear this, Icki

Do you have a big snuggly armchair you could rig up as a recliner? Pillows in the small of your back, a footrest, with more pillows under your knees?
Last year i had a virus that left me coughing when i tried to lie down.
I tried sleeping propped in the bed, but ended up much more comfortable in a big soft recliner.

@ickihun Sorry you are feeling unwell.

I know this maybe a bit late to suggest but have you tried Mallow tea, It is a herbal remedy that has been used for hundreds of years and is known to have some beneficial properties it is high in anti oxidants, is anti inflammatory and has antibiotic properties as well. Also animal tests have shown it to reduce blood sugars. I now have a cup every night at bed time it is believed to help insomnia as well. It helps me get to sleep. It is good for respiratory problems.

"
Mallow has a rich ethnomedicinal history and has been used since ancient Greece and Roman times. The leaves and shoots of common mallow have been used as food sources since the 8th century BC. 1 The aboveground portions of the plant have been used in pancakes and salads, cooked as greens, and used as stuffing. 5 The immature fruits may be consumed raw as a snack. 6

Ethnomedicinal references document the plant's efficacy as an anti-inflammatory for the respiratory tract, GI tract, and the skin. 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 The plant can be used topically or in a bath to treat abscesses, bruises, burns, dermatitis, swellings, and varicose ulcers. 4 , 7 A decoction may be chewed, gargled, or used as a wash to treat sore throat as well as mouth, throat, and gingival inflammations. 9 , 12 Respiratory conditions, such as bronchitis and whooping cough, can also be treated with a decoction. 3 , 10 It may be used as a compress on the stomach to help heal abdominal pains. 11 Mallow may be taken as food to treat constipation or similar GI discomfort. 4 , 12 Other uses have been documented. 4

The mucous compounds in the plant species are of commercial interest, particularly in dermatology and cosmetic preparations. The plant species has been used to treat acne. 4 , 9 , 12 , 13"

I wonder if it will be ok to take with all my meds?
So thankful I wasn't offered steriods yesterday for asthma. It would undue all my work. My gp is brilliant. We are on the same hymn sheet. Singing hopefully will be next! Ha ha
Feeling a little better as slept very late so I was exhausted. Only had 5hrs but about to climb back into propped up bed in a mo. Shattered now.
Thanks too @Brunneria . :)

I take an awful lot of meds and has caused me no problems and so far as I have read it has no contraindications apart from its propensity to lower BG levels and has no noted interactions with drugs or medications.

Thanks @JohnEGreen . I'll check it out for thyroid and asthma interactions too then have a try.
Thanks for suggesting some help.

I've returned to a fuller asthma inhaler routine and feeling much better.
Definitely inflammation in chest.
No chest pains since starting taking vit d supplements. So far.
Back still painful thou. More the pity. Dizziness and wobbly legs still an issue. I must look drunk from behind.

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time @ickihun, pal. You are such an encouraging force on the site. so you absolutely need to feel batter tomorrow! Sort it out, woman! ;). Tramadol certainly helped me when pain was making it more than difficult to sleep. Hope you have some sweet dreams as the week improves.

Paul

Inflammation is going to be the death of me!

Back pain is affecting 3 discs and knock on effect scatica.
Asthma
Viruses.

I cannot get anymore, surely?

It's asthma Paul, I think.
I was asked to reduce what asthma nurse thought was overdosing on a reliever inhaler. On top of a sickness bug then left with a cough inhalers couldnt support.
Ive gone back to maximum inhalers. It has relieved my choking/breathlessness for sleep and propped up chest so far less coughing but im waking in agony from pressure on my lower back in bed. Making bulging disc pain worse!
Im like a unoiled robot at mo with pain. Argh!!!
My fbg is 5.4 due to excellent basal insulin and controlled bgs before bed.
I just wish this virus or inflammation or allergy would do one.
I'm going to try John's supplement next week if no reprieve.

Its quite scary as i dont really know enough about asthma to control it better. Newly diagnosed as asthmatic and need to keep sugars good for operation.
I didnt realise you can have asthma for month on month without feeling normal? The cough thing is off bug but hanging around far too long. GP said no chest infection so at least no more tablets. Im against steriods as im trying to lose weight, not add.

Asthma is a ******, problem for me is having MG as well both affect breathing. I often end up sleeping propped up on my elbow head resting on hand then wake up with awful neck pain.

I remember when first diagnosed with MG had been in hospital about eight weeks and just wanted to go home, but they would not let me as having Asthma as well they where concerned about breathing difficulties so I argued that as not having had an official diagnosis of Asthma it should not be of concern, that resulted in a four hour trip to the lung function lab and visit from a respiratory consultant who said so much for not having Asthma John and no you can't go home yet. ****.

I've had a health assistant use a computer programme to determine Asthma which has been affecting me since Nov'16. I thought breathing problem was related to heart as chest pains too.
Diagnosed with mild heart disease and took off asprin but encouraged to restart statin.
I guess statin helps with inflammation? Inflammation causes atheroclerosis, I believe.
I think I need to speak to my gp again about an alternative if blood test is not showing good cholesterol levels. I bearly eat anything these days.

Feeling loads better on full asthma inhaler regime.
Left with worse back pain thou.
Increasing my tramadol back up to maximum. I'll get my smile back tomorrow, I'm sure of it. Ha ha

I really feel for you, pal. It's hard enough just managing the diabetes without having other stuff to deal with (particularly things which hinder you so much). I hope it's under control soon. I am against steroids too (as they caused by diabetes) but I still have to take a small dose to help prevent rejection of my transplant graft. One thing at a time would be nice, eh? Good luck.

God I'm still ill.

I feel so gutsy this morning. I feel I need to be sick to feel better.
Waiting to take meds other than basal insulin as I might bring them back up.
Not well, at all.
Ironically I slept better due to being able to breathe.

I feel ill. :(

Thanks for your posts too @pleinster .

Been sick twice so hoping tummy will settle down as I need to take my blood pressure tablets and others.
Metformin tablets showed an appearance. 4 which hadnt managed the whole journey. I wonder if 2 was lingering off illness which when I took next dose they were too close together. Also not eating much. Maybe not enough to carry metformin throughout?
I might need to up my protein this week. I've noticed more fat than muscle on my body now. Which used to be the opposite for decades. Insulin injections converting to fat but processing protein due to lack of carbs.
I took some carbs 2 days ago and yesterday but need to replace them with protein again. Only due to awaiting income to buy food.
Mr ickihun out with 4yr old to buy essentials til on-line shopping comes on tuesday.
