I workout almost everyday and i have managed to control my diabetes that way but now that i got ill it's somehow impossible to keep blood sugar in normal levels.. if someone could tell me some tips to managing while sick i would love it :)

I work out 'religiously', too. Control/Insulin sensitivity is excellent when training.

However, when I can't train for whatever reason (illness/injury/Too busy) I find that I have to reduce my carbohydrates significantly to maintain some measure of 'control'.

So in summary;
  1. Lower your carbs significantly
  2. Take into account that illness will affect your BS (some good sick day tips from above poster)

I usually take 10% extra insulin - both quick acting and basal insulin. I have the freestyle libre so scan my GB every half hour or so and depending on the arrow, I take more or less insulin. More water than normal is good too
