I do not have diabetes
Since going low carb and losing a lot of weight.
The winter has well and truly arrived.
I've worked outside for a number of years and have never felt the cold even when it's freezing.
I'm feeling it now even the thermals aren't working!
Has anyone noticed this?

And no I'm not a southern softie!

That's interesting jack!
But I do eat a good portion of fat daily in different guises such as Greek yoghurt, dark choc, animal fats and saturated fats. Can't stand butter, cream or milk.
Maybe my medium fats should increase to more yoghurt, more choc, and steaks and bacon on Bergen bread!

what about coconut oil and olive oil, can you handle them?
try increasing your fats by what you would consider 'a lot' for a week and see if there is a big difference to how you feel. It will tell you if this is the problem and then you can fine tune.

cold? I'm still far too fat. Still T-shirt weather for me. I long to be cold and slim :)

Not on the touch line on a wet and windy afternoon!
No I'm fine with oils. Often fry with them, omelettes etc.

google : fat bombs
you might get some ideas for a morning and afternoon energy hit

oils are a good choice for you then, just go easy on the grain oils, canola/rapeseed if you have to. but there are walnut and almonds and a dozen other better ones to chose from, ideally 'cold pressed'

I found that after losing 2 stone (still very over weight) that i now have poor circulation and have been diagnosed with Raynauds. For the last 2 winters i have suffered with freezing hands and chilblains. I've taken precautions this winter and treated myself to some fur lined boots and i have loads of gloves and a hot rock thing that you can charge via usb.

i dont understand why my circulation became worse after losing weight.

I'm always cold. But I'm recovering from a blood cancer. I have to ask Mrs Nuthead if it's hot or cold in the room. I also need to use hand warmers. And wheat bags over my feet. Heating bill going into orbit.
I hope it's not caused by low carbs... Or we're both sc£@=/d !!!!!o_O

Same as you.

I've lost around 8 inches plus, and increasing, from my waste, and a lot of fat from the rest of me, my BMI is below 25, I'm freezing.
The only way extra fat is going to work for me is by putting it back on, and getting the insulation back.

It took me long enough to lose it, so Thinsulate is my friend.

I think, if you low carb and don't replace the calories, you are going to be cold as the body shuts down extremities. to keep your organs warm, using the reduced fuel load.

@Nuthead, I don't know if this applies to you or if the cancer is affecting your metabolism, but I hope you feel better soon

Trust me, I don't low carb particularly, and (normally) I replace the calories to maintain my metabolism.

I just feel like a thin penguin at the south pole.

The op can do an easy test as you suggest though.
A lot of fat, if they don't gain weight, and stay warm, it's a winner.
If they do gain weight, and stay warm, it's a trade.
