Can't believe I did this... packed bags for the next 3 days as I'm staying with my fianceé over christmas.. all but my glucose meter and finger pricker.. I did pack my insulin at least.. Guess I'm gonna have to wing it... not practical to travel back 20 miles back home to get it. Ah well... Merry Christmas all!

Hey Kez G
that is a bit of a *****r -- but my advice would be to travel hom at the earliest convenient time -- 20 miles is no more than a 90 minute round trip

I once left my entire kit bag ( insulin and testing in services ) and had to make an hour journey each direction to retrieve
( fortunately all my gear was intact )

I hope you went back for your meter and test strips? 20 miles is nothing. If I'd had left mine lets say visiting my daughters which is a 2 hr drive i wouldn't have bothered if i was returning home that night but would be very very uncomfortable. If it was an overnight stay then i would pop into a pharmacy and bought the cheapest meter available that comes with a few test strips (usually 25) or driven home to get mine.

Regards

Martin

I didn't go back for my test kit.. no car and public transport a nightmare this time of year.. will be home again tomorrow.. doubt I'll make the same mistake again. Thankfully my levels have been steady recently with no sign of hypos. Might get a slapped wrist from my nurse next visit for not having records tho. :-\
