Imagination Running Wild

Hi all

Looking for a bit of advice here - I am not after a diagnosis, and will be going to the docs in due course but would like to settle my mind a bit before going.

The past couple of weeks I have been feeling very thirsty, dry mouth, bad breath etc. Been drinking a fair amount of water, but the past 2 or 3 days I have been going to the loo more than usual too.

Coupled with this, I have noticed my cuts etc taking a while to heal. I do have keloid scarring where my body (especially my face) overscars and leaves them sort of lumpy. This doesnt happen on my hands so much, but I have cut myself on my hands recently and the scars just arent fading fast at all.

People have commented that I look like I have lost weight too, and while I dont think I have actually lost much at all, I think I may have done in reality.

Would love a bit of advice from the experts on what you think could be involved here, I will be going to the docs, but need to put my imaginative mind at ease quickly...

Thanks :)

Jake

Hi Jake.
First of all, welcome.

What you state could well be Diabetes ? It could also be a myriad other things as well.

The fact that you are going to see your GP is the best advice I could give too. Try not to worry too much. Whatever it is, you are en-route to finding out. Once you have the diagnosis come back and ask all you like. Imagination can sometimes not be the best thing going ?

As you rightly point out we do not diagnose on here.

Ken.

hya jake and welcome,
it could be diabetes but may not be, you need to see your gp asap as if its type 1 you can get extremely ill rather quickly, lloyds do free tests too, i fasted over night b4 i went and had one at lloyds and it was fairly high so plz get checked and let us know how u get on :D

Hi all, blood sugar level of 6.4 - apparently fine.

Blood test was today so hoping for results early next week!

Cheers

Fasting? IMO that's not fine! Check your BG again about an hour after eating something carby. Even if you aren't officially diabetic you are heading away from normal: hopefully you have not gone so far that you can't control it.

(bear in mind their BG numbers are 18x ours but the A1c is identical)
