Immunosuppressants

Is anyone else on immunosuppressants for other health issues? How does it affect your sugar levels?
I started Methotrexate at the beginning of the year and all things diabetes have been getting worse very gradually and I'm starting to wonder if the two things are linked..

Hi CrazyCatLady2693

I was on methotrexate for a while and for me it did not affect my sugar levels. I discontinued Methotrexate due to the side affects it was causing. I am now Infliximab which is not causing me any issues diabetes or otherwise

Hope things begin to improve

Sorry this is not much help. I know methotrexate is used for different things, I have arthritis (osteo and rheumatoid). I've been on methotrexate for a few years, made me feel sick at first but I make sure I take the 6 tablets (15mg) with food. I don't think there is a link or possibly everything has stabilised. I was given sartans, there are several types, and they all made me feel awful. I think they reduced my sodium levels. I spent a few hours in A&E with awful cramp, no more sartans and hopefully OK now.
I hope your diabetes settles down, I can only suggest go and back to the consultants who gave you the Metho. Good luck. Carol
