I saw a new GP on Thursday who took some blood to test and then decided that he would do my hba1c and cholesterol for good measure despite me tryig to convince him that it could be left until March next year when it was due and I had had chance to get back to normal eating after Christmas etc. Have to say I'm pretty chuffed as hba1c is down 1 to 36 which is a bit of a surprise considering the not so low carb things I ate on my cruise in November and the run up to Christmas. My cholesterol has gone up to 5.00 which is a rise of 0.2 however my breakdown has changed to Trigs 1.7 - up from 1.2, HDL 1.5 - up from 1.2 and LDL 2.7 - down from 0.4. I had however eaten a full fat yoghurt for breakfast and had a cup of Latte mid morning and he did my blood test at 12.30. We did have a chat about statins but, after I explained the reasons why I would never take them again and he checked my notes, he marked me down as being Statin Intolerant - result!!! I have now decided that, as my hba1c has been in the low 40s or 30s since November 2013, I will change my profile to 'in remission'.
