in agony with leg pain, help and advise needed please

wondering if anyone could help?
I've had this pain in my lower leg between my ankle and below my knee for a bout 2 years its on & off, I cant really describe the pain buts its excruciati ng.. Sometimes i wont get it for a few months & sometimes like recently i get it by just walking 5 minutes down the road.. I went to a physio about 4months ago but by the time the doctors referred me & i got an appointmen t with the physio the pain had gone again so she said there's nothing they can do unless i have the pain... ive had it again now for a bout 2 weeks... i have type 1 diabetes.. does anyone else suffer from this or know if its diabetes related??? Thanks x
 
Hi, is it at the back of your 'calf' muscle ? cramps ?
Please can you describe the pains ?
Do you take any statin meds?
Do you get it at night or daytime only?

I can only suggest you go back and ask your gp to refer you to a physio again, as it is a recurring problem it's more than likely a musculoskeletal problem but I'm no expert as to whether it's diabetes related or not.

Just a thought , :!: ,

Gout attack can come on very fast and last 2<>4 weeks its not uncommon in ankle or knee feet :?:
You can go months /years between attacks or just few weeks

When If it comes on next I would pop along to A&E (not at weekends)
or the out of hours walk in center will normally refer things like that to A&E :wink:
at least you may have an Xray

I get occasional leg pain but after my persistence I got it fully investigated and was diagnosed with referred pain from back problems. Short of spine surgery there is little that can be done so I put up with and dull it the best I can with Temgesic (buphenorphine under-tongue). Buprenorphine is a strong opioid painkiller which is used to treat severe pain and is also used as a replacement for heroin.
