Quite a few us of have a bit of 80-90% dark chocolate. That could be doable for you. But not the whole bar though!but still really crave chocolate more than anything!
Thank you for your ideas & suggestions.
I do use sweeteners for hot drinks & do buy sugar free sweets but still really crave chocolate more than anything!
Tried cutting it out entirely a few times then end up impulse buying then feeling worry & guilt.
There's no easy fix or answer to food cravings & having your Doctor being judgemental too doesn't help & makes me even more secretive about it.
I guess the resolution lies only with me & my eating habits.

Thank you. I do eat fruit (against my Dr's advice) & that usually works well for me until I get the monster cravings for chocolate again.Been there done that with just grabbing all the chocolate and stuff but now I've cut it out on low carb life style if I crave sweet stuff what is doing it for me is grabbing berries and that is sorting my cravings but I dunno if that's just me.
Tha!k you. I'll look that up.Hi have you tried the food supplements This is food in chocolate flavour?
I have that as a treat and it hardly affects my sugars and tastes amazing! Hope this may help a bit
Thank you for your experiences & suggestions. I too have spinal stenosis & frequent procedures for it amongst other health issues. Being in chronic pain all day, every day makes life hard work, plus I live alone so I'm often depressed & lonely.Hi I was in denial about my diabetes for years but now I need an operation for spinal stenosis and it has been delayed as my hba1c was too high. I was so upset but only myself to blame. I’m now back on low carb and back on the waiting list as I've got my numbers down.
I know where you’re coming from as I’ve turned to food so many times for comfort. I find the better I am at staying away from sweet tasting stuff the less I crave it and make sure I fill up on food that doesn’t raise my BG. Plus having a goal helps and although I’m sure my pain isn’t as bad as yours, it’s a constant reminder that I’m keeping on track for a reason. Staying positive is a great motivator so try and find something you can aim for.
There are lots of YouTube videos to make low carb biscuits, cookies cakes etc ‘Ketofocus‘ and the catchy title ‘all day I dream about food’ are my regular go toos
You could use high cocoa chocolate in low carb cooking, or grate/chop and mix into real icecream, or use cacao powder to make desserts. Fruit is a poor substitute, though I make sugar free jelly with berries once in a while, and that is low carb enough even for me - plus I can't eat the lot, as it is quite bulky.Thank you. I'll give anything a go, thank you.I eat greek yogurt (5%} with a very few berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries etc).
Or sometimes make peanut butter cookies - mega easy! Peanut butter, artificial sweetener (i use stevia or erythritol), egg and vanilla essence. Stir together, cook in spoonfuls on tray for 10-15 minutes.
Keto cheesecake is gorgeous and filling.
On Christmas day I enjoy the charmingly named dessert 'Sex in a pan'
Many thanksI don’t have this issue any more but in the past I did! This YouTube site has amazing recipes and I highly recommend.
ketoserts, just put that in your YouTube search.

Most days my sweet fix is fruit & I've been ok with that but then the chocolate monster in me needs more than a fruit fix! I've found some chocolate online & although a bit expensive I think I'll give it a go, thank you.Nothing wrong with eating low-carb fruit, either portion controlled or berries, and stevia sweetened chocolate is my go-to treat. I think you will find plenty of folks with T2D who find alternatively or artificially sweetened candy and desserts, and definitely chocolate! And of course - pair it with mixed nuts or ones favourite low-carb nuts....
